Body Sculpting & Contouring
Fat & Cellulite Reduction
We all have those stubborn areas such as the stomach, love handles, inner thighs or upper arms, where exercise and diet alone won’t improve the appearance of cellulite or move the excess weight. These areas of the body have poor blood and lymphatic circulation and slow fat metabolism.
Fat cavitation is a procedure that is used to improve the appearance of cellulite while smoothing and reshaping the body. It uses Infrared and Radio Frequency to precisely target and heat fatty tissues in specific areas of the body while suction and massage rollers smooth and contour the skin. It is an easy and highly effective non – surgical alternative for liposuction resulting in a loss of centimeters.
During a session, the suction and massage stimulate the lipolysis and activate the fat release which is transferred into a source of energy for muscles. The Infrared and Radio Frequency uses energy to heat the deeper layers of tissue, reducing the size of the fat cells, promoting collagen production and increasing blood flow to tighten the loose skin. Vacuum therapy improves blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, smoothes the underlying fat layers and increases elasticity. All three modalities work synergistically for effective fat removal, cellulite reduction, body shaping, and skin tightening. Centella Stem Cell products are incorporated into the session to enhance the results.
One of the major benefits over surgical procedures is that your body generates its own collagen, during and after the treatment for many months to come. This collagenesis tightens your skin and connective tissue, whilst increasing micro circulation and assisting with your lymphatic drainage.
How does the Fat Cavitation treatment work?
Cellulite consists of oedematous-fibrotic-sclerotic changes of the subcutaneous tissue. The process starts with increased accumulation of fat in fat cells, which leads to swelling and impede blood and lymph circulation. As a result, the metabolism of the skin cells and subcutaneous tissues is impaired. The skin loses its elasticity and becomes flabby and uneven.
As our skin matures, the collagen and elastin proteins which help support a tight skin structure start to break down. As skin loses elasticity, fine lines, wrinkles start to appear. Through the use of four different techniques: vacuum massage, mechanical massage, RF radio waves and IR bio stimulating laser, becomes the most efficient device aimed at reducing the fat cells. The bi-polar radio frequency energy penetrates the skin layers to selectively heat the skin tissue where the collagen fibres are embedded. The local heating causes an immediate contraction of the collagen fibres, and fat cells drain then shrink, while those all important fibroblast cells (part of our connective tissue) are stimulated to produce new collagen and elastic fibres. The effect of this is tighter, smoother, younger looking skin with a visible lift. Fat cells are reduced and stubborn cellulite looks a lot less noticeable.
How many treatments are required and when will results be seen?
It is recommended to start with a course of 10 treatments which should be performed 5 days apart and maintenance treatments every three months. The results are gradual and cumulative throughout a course of treatments but will result in a noticeable smoothing of skin and reduction of cellulite and improved contour. It is recommended to drink lots of water and exercise on the day of treatment to activate the process.
Is it safe for everyone?
People with sensory disturbance to the skin may not be considered good candidates as this could make the reporting of discomfort during the procedure unreliable, leading to potential harm. Although there is no evidence that this treatment is harmful for pregnant women, you would generally be advised to wait until after you have given birth before embarking upon a course of treatment.
Treatment is not recommended if you fit in the following categories:
– Pregnant women or nursing mothers
– Blood disorders
– Acute inflammation and transmissible disease
– Heart disease
– Kidney disease (cholelithiasis)
– Liver disease or any disorder of the liver (such as taking steroids for a long time)
– Serious illness such as diabetes
– Infections, especially in the cervical ganglia, spine, eyeball
– Internal bleeding (e.g. from ulcers)
– Pins, metallic prosthesis and Pacemaker
– During menstruation
– Urinary incontinence
– Internal heat in the body, e.g. fever or intense inflammation
– Atopic disease
If you have any other diseases or medical concerns please discuss this with the therapist before commencing any treatment.
Is the procedure painful?
The treatment is not painful and can be likened to a deep tissue massage. The area will become warm and you will feel suction and a kneading sensation depending on what mode is being used. As each person’s pain tolerance and threshold varies, it is difficult to quantify how uncomfortable the treatment is. The discomfort level can also depend on the settings that are applied for the treatment.
What is the recovery process after the treatment?
Some people experience slight redness or bruising on or around the treated area immediately following treatment, which typically disappear in a few hours to a day. Most people find that they can return to work and normal activities immediately after treatment.
Some people may notice a slight increase in urine output following treatment. This is because any excessive fluid buildup in between cells in the area treated is drained through the lymphatic system via the treatment process – this then gets excreted in the urine.
